Slovenia: 2007 AIDA World Indoor Freediving Championships

Day 3

Static Qualification Heats were conducted this morning. Several new national records were set for many countries. Many of the competitors were going lighter than usual because of the Dynamic Finals that will happen later this evening.

Results are being posted almost live to the event site. Click http://en.wch2007.h2oteam.com/results2/

As far as the US athletes are concerned,

Jessica Wilson placed second overall and is moving on to the Women's A Final tomorrow.

Deron Verbeck placed ninth and is moving on to the Men's B Final.

Kevin Busscher DQed due to surface protocol.

The evenings Dynamic Finals were very exciting. Jessica Wilson did well in her Women's B Final with a swim of 127M placing 14th overall.

Canada's Wil Winram tacked on ten more meters to his record form yesterday to swim 203 meters to a new Canadian Record and third place overall. Big result for him. Four men swan over 200 meters, one was DQ for BO.

In the Women's A Final Natalia Molchanova continued her hold on the worlds with a new world record of 205 meters. Five new national records in the A final alone.

It is safe to say this pool has been very good for performances, it is seeing some big numbers. Tomorrow we see static finals and heats for Dynamic No Fins.
