AIDA Team World Championships 2006 - Hurghada, Egypt
Day 3
December 3rd – 5th: Official Constant Ballast Training.
The competition barge arrived on-site on December 3rd, but was not available for official training until December 5th. Many athletes chose to arrange their own training, and members of Team USA split up onto several boats with athletes from several other countries to get in whatever training they could. At one point Craig and Annabel tried to swim out a counterbalance rig from shore, but found they were too tired to dive after doing so!
On a more positive note, the pool here is a steamy 30C/86F. Morning and afternoon static practices are much more enjoyable in a warm pool!
Robert King arrived on the evening of the 5th, completing Team USA’s complement of freedivers. Announcements for Constant Ballast were made and the competition schedule was posted. Team USA performances were scheduled as follows:
Day 1:
- Juliana Howe, 60m
Day 2: no Americans competing
Day 3:
- Robert King, 35m
- Craig Gentry, 43m
- Jessica Wilson, 59m
- Annabel Briseno, 61m
- Deron Verbeck, 70m

Jessica Enters the water to train.
Nothing would be possible without the support of the tech divers. They trained as well.
Bottom cameras were prepared as well.
Judges were busy stretching and measure the official lines.

Tape marks are used to allow the judges to quickly move the competitions lines to the correct depth.
The line measuring was made easier with the assistance of 15 Judge in Learning students.
